Biography

Chief (Mrs.) Marlies Allan was one of the founding partners of Allan & Ogunkeye. She graduated from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria in 1972 with an Honours degree in Law, (LL.B) and was called to the Nigeria Bar (B.L) in 1973. In 1974, she obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Management Studies from Teeside University in the United Kingdom. In 1982 and 1983, Chief Allan studied “Legal Drafting” and “Commercial Legal Transactions” respectively at Queen Mary College, University of London, obtained Diplomas in both courses and was admitted as a Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1989.

Chief Allan and Mr. Obatosin Ogunkeye founded Allan & Ogunkeye in 1982, having worked prior to this in the corporate world as in-house solicitors

Practice Focus

Chief Allan has authored many articles and made many presentations in connection with intellectual property law and family law here in Nigeria and internationally.

She retired from the firm in 2022.

Marlies Allan is the managing partner of the firm. Apart from her administrative duties, she also handles issues pertaining to Company law, Intellectual Property law, A broad range of Commercial Transactions, Adoption, Wills and Transfer of title to Real Property.
